About this tool

Reduce image file size with a quality slider and optional resizing, then download the result. The whole process runs on your own device using the browser's canvas engine, so there is no upload wait, no queue and no server that ever sees your pictures.

How to use it

  1. 1Drop one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images, or click to choose them.
  2. 2Adjust the quality and optional maximum width to balance size against detail.
  3. 3Compare the before and after sizes, then download a single file or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Decoding, resizing and re-encoding all happen in your browser using the canvas API. Your files never leave your device, which is also why the tool works with no file size limit from our side.

Why does PNG sometimes get larger?

PNG is a lossless format and does not use the quality setting. Re-encoding can occasionally produce a bigger file, so the tool always compares sizes and keeps the smaller version.

What quality value should I use?

For photos, 75 to 85 percent usually cuts file size by more than half with no visible difference. Go above 90 only when the image will be printed or viewed at full size.
