About this tool
Drop a batch of images and re-encode them into the format you actually need: JPEG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. HEIC and HEIF files straight from an iPhone are converted first so the browser can read them. Each result shows the new size next to the original, and you can download them one by one or as a ZIP.
How to use it
- 1Drop the images you want to convert — several at a time is fine.
- 2Pick the target format, and the quality if that format supports it.
- 3Run the conversion, then download a single file or all of them as a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Which format should I choose?
WebP gives the smallest files and is supported by every current browser, so it is the best default for the web. JPEG remains the safest choice for email and older software, PNG when you need transparency or lossless quality, and AVIF when you want the smallest file at the cost of slower encoding.
Why did my AVIF or BMP conversion fail?
Encoding support is decided by the browser, not by this page. A browser that cannot encode AVIF will quietly hand back a PNG instead of failing, so the tool checks the real returned format and tells you when the format you asked for is unavailable. JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported everywhere.
What happens to transparent areas in my PNG?
JPEG and BMP have no transparency, so transparent pixels have to be filled with a solid colour — white by default, and you can change it. For WebP and PNG the transparency is kept unless you deliberately turn on the flatten option.
